John Akande

John Akande is a contemporary figurative artist known for his expressive depictions of African culture, identity, and everyday human experiences. Encouraged early in life by an artistically inclined sibling and inspired by the vibrant environment of Lagos, Akande developed a passion for art at a young age. Although initially self-taught, he refined his technique and broadened his creative vision through formal studies at the prestigious Yaba College of Technology.
